Music releases for the week of June 15th include Sarah McLachlan, Drake, Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, and the following below.
The two most interesting releases this week are Sarah McLachlan with her new album “The Laws Of Illusion” and Drake with his debut release of “Thank Me Later”.
Sarah McLachlan’s release of The Laws Of Illusion, is a well planned release, and just in time for the Lilith Fair tour.
Lilith Fair was founded by Canadian musician Sarah McLachlan in 1997. Lilith Fair is a tour and music festival, celebrating and promoting women in music. There has only been two tours so far, which was in 1997, and 1999. Lilith Fair 2010 marks the third tour and festival.
The main objective and purpose of Lilith Fair, is to promote women in music, and act as a fund raiser for women’s charities in North America. To date Lilith has raised over $10 million. The tour had been a huge success in the past, and is expected to be just as successful this year.
Confirmed artists for Lilith Fair include Sarah McLachlan, rock band Heart, Loretta Lynn, Indigo Girls, Kelly Clarkson, Emmy Lou Harris, Mary J. Blige, Cheryl Crow, just to name a few of the divas. The complete list of tour dates and women artists are listed at Lilith Fair.
Drake has an extreme anticipated debut release with “Thank Me Later”, Drake is a Canadian actor, best know on the teen TV series Degrassi: The Next Generation.
Discovered for his talent by Lil’ Wayne, Drake was singed to Lil’ Wayne’s record label “Young Money Entertainment”, which is distributed by Universal Records.
